This Song Is Done w Horns

I posted my first demo of this song  in early January just after I wrote it for New Year’s as an ode to finishing, taking care of business, getting things done. Now it’s December and I’ve got it ska’d up for the next album – MANTRAS – with drums, bass, and horns.

I’m thrilled to have collaborated with Grupo Fantasma and Brownout trombonist and horn arranger Mark “Speedy” Gonzales. He brought saxophonist Dan Bechdolt and trumpeter Kevin Flatt over to Tonehaus a few weeks after we recorded drum and bass with my main men Gray Parsons and Doug Snyder.

Little Wedding on the Hill

A friend from DDCE got married recently and I was honored that she asked me to play at the wedding, especially because there were only 5 other people at the wedding, including the bride and groom! Jamie and Glenn got married atop the hill beside the Long Center, overlooking Auditorium Shores and downtown Austin shortly after sunrise. It was gorgeous, intimate and Austin. Here are the wedding pics that included me, shot by Kelley Denby. Playing at Jamie's and Glenn's Wedding

Playing Travis Heights Art Trail in Lisa B’s Yard

It was a gorgeous day Saturday for playing a little outdoor concert in Lisa B’s yard for all the folks stopping by to see her art. Maile and Anais came along and had fun, listened, danced, made it fun for me. Anais was dressed up in her wedding dress and ruby red slippers for the occasion, so that alone made it wonderful.
